The wooded area is attractive to hikers and hunters.
In my part of the country there is no difficulty in dealing with the problems of hikers and ramblers.
I would like to preserve land for building, and give the rambler and hiker a fair deal within it.
The ramblers and the hikers get certain privileges, not so many as they would wish, and in return they accept certain responsibilities.
Does one return to bed annoyed that one has been disturbed by some perfectly respectable hikers?
This is an area much frequented by hikers, bird-watchers and campers.
If so, what about putting it on a ver y high armoire, which the hiker is likely to fall off of and die if he tries to climb it?
Further, even with those defenses, the analogy between paternalism and the hiker case is too weak to do any real work.
What if the hiker then simply tries to help himself to the property over the owner's objection?
