It is becoming more and more essential in modern conditions for a car to be roadworthy.
The regulations already provide that heavy goods vehicles shall, at all times, be in a roadworthy condition.
It is certainly not a general guarantee that the car is in all degrees roadworthy and satisfactory—or, indeed, a good bargain.
