Cervical papillae cylindrical, rounded at outer margin with a central, needle-like projection.
As metacercariae mature, these papillae become shorter with a thickening of the tegument but still retaining an opening to the cilium within.
There are three types of papillae identifiable on the cercariae.
The cuticle is covered with minute, close-set papillae, and bears numerous setae, approximately 0-02 mm. in length, on both dorsal and ventral surfaces.
The same 3 types of cell inclusions were observed and, as in the papillae, no ducts were seen connecting the cells to the tegument surface.
The morphology associated with the multiple optic papillae and retinal ganglion cell distribution.
There are two small papillae on each side of the clypeus.
Once both ventral suckers are attached to their respective papillae, lysis and fusion of the adjoining tissues begin.
