The park is dominated by arid zone woodlands and is situated along the mulga-eucalypt line.
Salt marsh, mulga-bunch grass, and short grass communities are found on alluvial plains.
Part of the mulga lands bioregion this is an area of dry sandy plain with small trees and shrubs.
Gum trees and mulga follow the four main creeks and other watercourses.
The vegetation found in the area is mostly spinifex and mulga with creeklines being surrounded by eucalypts.
The remaining quarter is a mix of spinifex, red sand, mulga and hard hilly country.
