Examples of induced current

  • Part of each pole is encircled by a copper coil or strap; the induced current in the strap opposes the change of flux through the coil.

  • Induced current or changing flux in the coil is measured.

  • The intuitive scenario is that the induced currents surrounding each magnetic line counteract each other, so that a net induced current is concentrated only near the periphery of plasma.

  • In a realistic situation, the induced currents may influence the total field-aligned current and establishment of anomalous resistance regime.

  • If a magnet moves towards a closed loop, then the induced current in the loop creates a field that exerts a force opposing the motion of the magnet.

  • The rotor must turn slightly slower (or faster) than the stator magnetic field to provide the induced current.

  • The current distribution within the rotor bars varies depending on the frequency of the induced current.

  • In extreme cases the induced current was so high the coils at the receiving side burst in flames, or the operators received electric shocks.
