I see that the bullfinch is in the noxious bird category.
Yet in other gardens around the bullfinch does a great deal of harm.
The position of the bullfinch has been mentioned.
But where commercial fruit growing is not carried out bullfinches are a great pleasure as a garden bird.
A flock of bullfinches can strip an orchard in a matter of hours.
But, generally speaking, bullfinches are mainly sedentary and in many areas have a low density of population.
On the other hand, there are parts of the country—the fruit growing areas—where it will certainly be essential to take drastic steps against the bullfinch.
I would rather be in a country where bullfinches sang and where it may have cost nothing to keep them.
