• We describe three neonates with intrapericardial teratomas diagnosed during fetal life and treated after birth.

• We report an unusual case of intrapericardial teratoma in a neonate presenting with collapse of the lung which was successfully treated by surgery.

• Histology showed the mass to be a benign immature teratoma.

• The pericardium has been opened and the large teratoma (marked by white dot) can be seen to displace grossly the heart and the great vessels.

• We present three cases of intrapericardial teratoma occurring in neonates.
