• It was not long before the Danes began to yield. 

• That made the Danes think that we were driven off, and their yells began afresh. 

• The German Government in some way learned of this and the Dane was arrested and put in jail. 

• These Danes were of the same stock as the Saxons, but more enterprising and bold.
