Exempel på anconeus

• If the lesion is high up, as it is, for example, in crutch paralysis, the triceps and anconeus may also suffer. 

• The somatomotor portion of radial nerve innervating anconeus bifurcates from the main branch in the radial groove of the humerus.

• The triceps brachii and anconeus extend the elbow, and attach to the posterior side of the humerus.

• Harm inflicted upon the radial nerve through these mechanisms can paralyze the anconeus muscle as well as other extensors of the elbow and wrist.

• Some consider anconeus to be a continuation of the triceps brachii muscle.

• It ascends to the interval between the lateral epicondyle and olecranon, on or through the fibers of the supinator but beneath the anconeus.
