Príklady stratus

• Most (>90%) events where u 2 m s-1 were individual precipitation and/or cloud water events which originated from stratus or strato-cumulus clouds during the transition and dry seasons.

• They were mushroom shaped, and they had thin stratus clouds spreading out from them at a thousand or two thousand feet up in the sky.

• The weather report of the naval pilot speaks of cloud stratus at 200 ft and visibility of a quarter of a mile at worst.

• At the time, the aircraft was between two layers of stratus cloud less than 3,000 feet apart.

• Observations suggest that when marine stratus is present alone, drizzle is minimized.

• Onshore winds in spring and early summer bring mists or low stratus clouds (known locally as sea frets) to the area.
