The eyelids often undergo extreme inflammatory and dropsical swelling in urticaria (nettlerash, surfeit) and in the general inflammatory dropsy known as purpura hemorrhagica.
The bath containing soda and starch (p. 141) is the most useful treatment when the nettlerash is general.
