The company's profit, however, was 81 percent below year-earlier levels, due to falling sales and profit margins.
In the year-earlier period, earnings were 84 cents a share on $18.74 billion in revenue.
The technology giant posted fiscal third-quarter earnings per share of 62 cents, compared to 61 cents a share in the year-earlier period.
It posted a $60.6 million profit ($1 a share) compared with $80.4 million ($1.38 a share) in the year-earlier period.
The carrier posted a profit of $366 million, or 42 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier profit of $138 million, or 15 cents a share.
It reported a first-half net loss of 35.24 billion yen, versus a year-earlier profit of 769 million yen.
That's compared to adjusted earnings of 97 cents a share on revenue of $5.8 billion in the year-earlier period.
Revenue for the quarter came in at $17.548 billion, against the year-earlier figure of $19.158 billion.
