• Effect of intestinal parasite treatment on the efficacy of oral iodized oil for correcting iodine deficiency in schoolchildren.

• Starch grains were visualized by a weak solution of iodine (0.3 g iodine and 1.5 g potassium iodide in 100 ml water).

• A single intramuscular injection of 480 mg of iodine in oil was found to protect against deficiency for at least 3 years.
