I was concerned that too many motorists had been defrauded and misled for too long by the crime of "clocking" or winding back car milometers.
Yet it is easy to check on the milometer and to assess the average consumption of that type of car.
Surely, one way forward would be to have cars manufactured with milometers that could not be put back or tampered with in any way.
