The synergists are the rectus capitus posterior major and obliquus capitis.
Otodus obliquus is the first large form of otodontid.
It ascends after emerging from below the suboccipital triangle beneath the obliquus capitis inferior muscle.
To the side of the lachrymal notch is a depression which gives rise to the oblique inferior oculi. (obliquus oculi inferior).
It supplies muscles of the suboccipital triangle, the rectus capitis posterior major, obliquus capitis superior, and obliquus capitis inferior.
