It strikes me as an extraordinarily inapt description.
It was a qualification that was arguable as being an inapt and inadequate qualification when introduced, nearly 150 years ago.
He obviously cannot accept words if they are inapt for the purpose.
I do not think my analogy is at all far-drawn or inapt.
But that would be a mistake, not only because it is threadbare but because it is inapt.
But, as has been made clear, this excursion is in itself totally inapt.
These are cases where we get what is often called creeping decontrol, a particularly inapt description.
But "handling" seems to me an inapt word, and one which may be slightly misleading to a jury.
