For the first part of its history it focused on retsina shipped in bulk to tavernas around the country.
Retsina wine was the traditional cash crop of the whole area, complemented with olives and olive oil, figs, almonds, pistacchios, and wheat.
Wines with additives, such as retsina, are not allowed.
Retsina, mulled wine and vermouth are some modern examples of these practices.
