0 a public swimming pool that is outside, or part of a beach where people can swim, lie in the sun, or do water sports --
The reopening ceremony came two days after the lido let in its first visitors for three years.
In addition to the lido deck, a large sports deck was designed behind the funnel.
At that time the sum of 113,000 was voted through with the intention of filling the lido with sand and granular infill.
There was also a lido (now demolished) and a permanent funfair which closed in 2007.
Neither of these two pools was officially called a lido at this time, however.
The lido site is now covered by a housing estate.
Below it is the main deck, which is called the lido deck.
A new pool and leisure centre is planned as part of the redevelopment of the lido site.
