Patriotism can turn into jingoism and intolerance very quickly.
It can be just as much an evil and a danger to world well-being as was the old imperialism and the old jingoism.
That type of jingoism should be disregarded totally when considering present issues.
Those are not just intellectual concepts, nor are they jingoism or war hysteria.
Was that jingoism and arrogance and military provocativeness?
This is a matter not of jingoism, but of acknowledging our heritage, paying tribute and learning the lessons of war.
Some countries have high standards and, in this debate, we must avoid jingoism and false patriotism.
