Among the creatures that inhabit the park are the rare hoolock gibbon, golden langur, hornbill, palm civets, black stork, tiger, white-breasted kingfisher, monitor lizard, python and sloth bear.
Later studies revealed, however, that the alleged monkey-eating eagle also ate other animals, such as colugos, civets, large snakes, monitor lizards, and even large birds, such as hornbills.
Wildlife include elephants, giraffes, impalas, warthogs, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, pangolins, elephant shrews, mongooses, civets, galagos, jackals, baboons, hyppopotamuses, colobuses, as well as over 80 species of birds.
Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated with other fecal matter and collected.
Many of these civets are housed in battery cage systems which have been criticised on animal welfare grounds.
Nocturnal animals like fox, hyena, jungle cat, civets, porcupine, ratel or honey badger and hares can be seen outside the park confines.
Matching the habits of other palm civets, this species is solitary, arboreal and nocturnal.
Their only documented predatorsapart from humansinclude snakes, hawk-eagles and orangutans, although cats, civets and sun bears are suspected.
