Cirebon is famous for its good quality salted fishes, such as "jambal roti", "juhi" (salted cuttlefish), "rebon" and "ebi" (dried small shrimp).
The usual cuisine consists of roti or rotlas, curd, butter milk, dal, curry, vegetables, papad, kachumbar.
They are also used to make spicy side-dishes with rice or roti.
It consists of a filling (gram and jaggery/sugar boiled and made in to a paste) stuffed in a flat roti-like bread.
These are usually thicker and harder than other roti types.
A roti pau kosong is used instead of sliced bread.
Fare range from fried rice to roti, curried chicken, goat and duck, along with curried channa and alloo (potato).
Common dishes include green sabzi and roti of genhu.
